Astrology Update: The Sun in Leo – Moving from Tension to Flow
July 28th, 2017
Contributing writers for Wake Up World
Supported by Mars in Leo, Monday’s New Moon in Leo initiated a very powerful energetic cycle that is bringing matters of the heart to fore this month, as the primary focus of our lives. In fact this month’s astrological transits are summarising and reflecting the many heart-lessons we have learned from the past 6 months of inner work — a period which began with February’s total lunar eclipse in Leo, which felt very much like a total eclipse of the heart as we became painfully aware of the lack of love in our world as well as ourselves — and was followed by the shift of the North/South Nodal Axis into Aquarius/Leo, bringing all of our hidden traumas to the forefront of our lives for integration and healing.
Now, as we move through this current lunar cycle which will climax with a Solar Eclipse on the 21st August, we are given the push (and in many cases, the triggers) we need to get out of our heads and into our hearts. It is time to let go of our fears and inhibitions! To stop delaying life as though it is something to be lived in the future, and to live our hearts desires now, in total trust that we do need to live our plan.
Let’s take a look at the evolutionary intention during this Lunar cycle.
The Sun, Moon and Mars in Leo aspecting Uranus in Aries
Moving from Tension to Flow
During the course of this month’s lunar cycle we will be experiencing the unfolding of our new direction as it shifts from a crisis-in-action towards clarity and flow. This unfolding is signified by the Sun, the Moon and Mars beginning this lunar cycle in a Square tension aspect to Uranus, and ending with a harmonic Trine alignment. The ruler of Uranus is Mars which is currently conjunct the Sun, revealing to us a deep cycle of action (Mars) and showing us that this transition is an area of great energetic development during this cycle.
The last lunar cycle occurred in the cardinal signs of Cancer (New Moon) and Capricorn (Full Moon), which bring the energy of change. Now, as we move into the energy of Leo, we are invited to start igniting and exploring the new directions we uncovered last month. As this energy is still new to us, we can feel unsure of how to integrate and process what it all means and what it will bring for us, which can feel uncomfortable to our emotions and confusing to our rational minds. However this uneasiness will begin to change as the Sun and Mars move from the Squares (tension angles) towards the more harmonious Trine formation at the end of this lunar cycle, where they will again join the Moon for the Solar Eclipse on August 21st.
For now, allow the process to unfold, stay present with what you are seeing and experiencing as it develops for you, and allow yourself the compassion to not have it all figured out.
Saturn in Sagittarius Square Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, and Opposite Venus in Gemini
Moving from Belief to Knowing
Another aspect that reveals how this lunar cycle will evolve is the aspects Saturn (which is still retrograde in Sagittarius) is making to Neptune, Chiron and Venus. Saturn’s square alignment to Neptune and Chiron (in Pisces) shows us that we are still moving through cycles of dissolving outdated ideals and old fear patterns which are connected with our beliefs. Saturn in Sagittarius in opposition to Venus in Gemini will help us integrate new thinking patterns and make new connections with others, while also showing us also what past connections to let go of. This is part of the development of our own inner connection to ourselves and how we are learning to communicate what is emerging from our own souls. When Venus moves into Cancer we will begin to develop a deeper emotional connection to the insights that are forming through us right now. This is a very important step in this growth cycle as it is our emotional bonds to our truths which form our identity and, ultimately, our way of relating to the world around us.
Saturn in Sagittarius Trine Uranus in Aries, and Mercury and the North Node in Leo
Honouring the heart, vocalising the truth.
The ongoing Trine alignment between Saturn and Uranus has been stimulating deep inner awakenings within us. These new insights have then led to a powerful need for change and inspired new paths and directions. In essence, old outdated patterns of thought and structure cannot hold the new frequency emerging on the planet (and within us), and now, joining the Saturn/Uranus trine are Mercury and the North Node, which are adding an extra push in this direction of change.
What this Trine means for us on a practical level is that we are now ready to honour our heart’s direction by vocalising our truth, and as a result, to experience the formation of a new material world around us. By vocalising our truth, we become able to restructure our behaviours, give attention to things that bring us greater harmony, and find the right path for us to experience and to grow from. Both Uranus and Saturn help us here to let go of the past dynamics, and through the practical application of conscious awareness, to create change in a balanced and integrated way. These are highly empowering energies, which are deeply awakening us — and fortunately for us, Saturn and Uranus will continue to form a Trine throughout 2017.
The Moon’s Message: There’s So Much to Unlearn!
There’s so much to unlearn to become who we truly are. So many layers of impressions and experiences to peel away before we remember what it is to be our true, authentic selves. We often look in the wrong direction when in pursuit of finding ourselves, when seeking that feeling of wholeness and self-love. We have been conditioned from birth to seek direction by looking outside of ourselves, often in search of that which we feel we lack. This perceived lack is at the core of our absence of self-love… as if we come into the world needing to find our purpose, find love and happiness just as we seek to find satisfaction in our work by looking outside of ourselves to what we need to learn, or become.
But all of this searching and becoming is actually moving us further away from our truth — away from love.
It is time to turn that direction inward, to find yourself there among all the untruths you have learned. It is time to look at what you are and stop focusing that which you are not (the world already does enough of that for you!!) By looking at what you are, what you have always been and not what you need to find or fix, you are opening up to a completely different perspective of yourself — a perspective where the only fixing needed is to heal the damage caused by not knowing your true self throughout your life, and by the belief that there is a “normal” that you need to adapt yourself to.
There is no normal. There is only uniqueness! And YOUR uniqueness has a place in the world, a purpose, a role to play, and things to see, experience, and do.
You are here to be you, not to become anything. You are here to live authentically and courageously from the heart. To shine your light on the world and be an example living truth. That is the biggest achievement you can ever accomplish. That is the most healing thing you can ever do for the world. That is your purpose. It will bring you more abundance than anything you can ever become.
There is so much to unlearn, and it begins with shifting your focus from what you lack to what you already are. It begins in the heart.
Be the change!
