Around 120 experts gathered in the two-day event to rally political wisdom and expand consensus. The agenda includes a number of sensitive cross-Strait issues including political relations, the one-China framework, and military security.
The director of the State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhang Zhijun said some of the political disputes can stay in abeyance temporarily, but should not be avoided forever.
