“In the best of times, our days are numbered anyway. So it would be a crime against nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were designed in the first place: the opportunity to do good work, to enjoy friends, to fall in love, to hit a ball, and to bounce a baby.” – Alistair Cook

We are the solution.

These are the words that ring in my ears after a hard day of saving Planet Earth. When I just can’t seem to find the strength to face one more cause, one more rally, when everyone and everything around me is in doubt and grief, these words echo in my mind. They remind me that the job is far from over.

I believe we each have a truthful phrase like that. Our ‘raison d’etre’. It beckons us like a distant lantern on a cold, dark night. I believe it’s what people mean by ‘finding themselves’. Without it, life holds little meaning.

Yet, as the New Age of Aquarius begins to set in, a lot of people are questioning who they are and why they’re here. It’s as if they had any real choice in the part they were born to play; no, my darlings, the only thing left to decide now is whether to follow through on why we came here in the first place.
We’re not here to be perfect, enlightened beings, anyway. We’ve done that before; long, long ago. Remember? Re-living all the same, old lessons is kind of missing the point, in my opinion.

We did not come to this planet to save it by walking a Path of Light. We came here to be the Darkness—to be born into it, to integrate with it, to struggle with it, to know it intimately—and then help that walk in the Light.

In so doing, we have brought love to a place that needed it most.

    ~ A Transformation is a Transformation is a Transformation ~

Well. It’s been a year and a month since I started writing these Guides. I’d really like to thank those who have been with me from the beginning for all the encouragement; and thanks to everyone for all the kind words. I can’t say how many times I’ve thought of throwing in the towel. If it wasn’t for all the positive feedback (and our sky-friends), I doubt anyone would be reading this now.

I’ve decided to shake things up a bit by dropping the descriptions on the signs themselves and concentrating on the current planetary configurations. Besides, how many times can I describe the signs? I would have done this last month, but I wanted to give someone, a Leo someone, a little lift for their birthday.

So, let’s get into it.

This month starts with a bang; though, maybe a challenge would be a better way to describe it. Perhaps a choice would even be better than that. Whatever way we look at it, there is certainly a lot of personal tension as we try to decide the next step in our personal and collective evolution. Both are now jostling for attention. Jupiter and Uranus have been slowly moving into an exact square position (on the 21st) that some may have felt as early as the beginning of August.

It’s a very unpredictable time as we work out how to honor the growth and care we feel for everyone with our own desire for personal freedom. We are have so much spiritual energy that it makes it hard to sit still. One minute we feel like lobbying for clean water, the next minute, we feel like saying, screw it, let’s go to the pub.

In this, I’d say we need to trust our intuition. What is our Heart telling us to do? Have a beer? March on Washington? Snooze til noon? Get laid? Go for it. I started this article with one of my favorite quotes, and I feel it’s sentiment is so important this month, I’ll say it again: try not to take life so seriously that we forget to have a little fun along the way.

I reckon we’ll get through this difficult Jupiter–Uranus square just fine if we do that. As long as we come back to doing right by the world, why shouldn’t be take some time for ourselves?

The point is not to let our sense of social justice supersede our own needs at home, and that includes those of our mind and body. Though it’s important to work on nutrition, exercise, and meditation, we also need some time to just get goofy with it, too.

* * *

On a personal note, I have been through one helluva a transformation recently. I could barely get out of bed for days on end. Though it was exhausting, it certainly put things into perspective for me. When one only has so much stamina to do things, it becomes quiet easy to see what’s really important and what isn’t.

I feel that this is the key to the square with Uranus and Jupiter: perspective. What’s really essential in our lives? We are not alone in these confusing times; the entire world is starting to come together. That’s a lot of perspectives all vying for consideration. Try to keep that in mind when deciding which road to take this month.

We can respect our own need for familial peace and collective soul growth (Jupiter in Cancer) or carrying a placard to a demonstration to demand equal rights (Uranus in Aries). Have time for both? Great! We could use that kind of vigor right about now; however, if we find ourselves falling by the wayside then perhaps it’s time to take a break.

I often find that we miss the signposts that lead to our own enlightenment—or, at least the next step in it—by focusing too much on where our foot falls rather than the sights and sounds all around us. There is so much beauty in the journey itself. As a result, many of us have become so stressed out that our bodies have begun to lie down and refuse to move.

If we look up once and awhile, we can see others on their path, too. We can see that they have the same joys and troubles that we do. Suddenly, we’re not as alone as we thought. It’s then that the bigger picture comes back into view; it’s then we find the courage to get back up, dust ourselves off, and get back to work.

~ Mars Amps It Up ~

I don’t normally discuss the inner planets changing signs unless they are connected to other, larger aspects. These planets go through the signs so quickly, it often becomes astrological white noise that leads to unnecessary over-analysis. But! Mars entering Leo on August 27th with all the other stuff happening may make things a little difficult for everyone.

Both Mars and Leo can be hotheads, and the two of them combined will make it very easy to explode on people for the wrong reasons. With all the emotional grief we’ve been through this year, we need to be careful of taking out our frustrations on others. All the spiritual growth, no matter how generous we are to others, doesn’t mean we get to gripe at people who are lagging behind or don’t appreciate all our efforts.

One of the best ways of burning off all the extra masculine energy would be to take long walks, especially in a wooded area (assuming there is access to it; if not, even a city park will do). Trees, grasses, and other fauna are natural grounders into the ley lines of the planet.

Also, try and refrain from tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine at this time. They will only enhance martial activity. Maybe do a body cleanse for a few days until the Earth settles back down. By September 1st, things will be back on track.

~ Flash Emotional Flood Warning ~

The middle of September may also be difficult for many of us. Venus enters Scorpio on September 11th which will bring up a lot of relationship issues. For those who have been at loggerheads with their lovers (and family), expect to see all the same, old crap come up again.

Then on the 16th, Saturn, the Lord of Karma, will line up with the North Node which relates to our unresolved, karmic lessons. It will add one heck of a wallop to our already tenuous grip on personal peace. Unless folks are ready to have the curtain pulled back and see who they really are, I’d be careful of being too hard on others.

At the same time, quick-moving and thoughtful Mercury will oppose a retrograde, revolutionary Uranus. Been planing a trip? Uh uh. No one is going anywhere. It’s time to face the music. The stars are making sure we stay close to home and dance to it.

I think everyone can feel a sense of urgency now. We have a chance to break free from things that have been weighing us down for many lives. It feels like the last few grains of sand running through a celestial hourglass before we flip it over and start over. Or, perhaps start over without the darn hourglass. Something is about to happen and the suspense is more than most of us can take—batting around hot-button arguments with boyfriends and girlfriends is hardly conducive to making room for what’s next.

As I mentioned in last month’s article, if the love relationships in our lives have been hanging by a thread, they’ll be gone by December. We need to take care of them if they’re important to us. Now that I’ve had a chance to test the turbulent waters we’ve been swimming in this year, I can safely confirm what I suspected: we are growing, we are becoming bigger, wiser, and more mature, and woe be to anyone who is standing in the way of that.

It’s like we’re being pulled in a thousand different directions and the only thing we know for certain is that we need positive change. Knee-jerk reactions to stuff we no longer find important, carrying around old baggage, especially in relationships, has become so heavy, it’s almost impossible to find any motivation to keep going with it.

The only thing I have left to say (for now; more to come in Scorpio’s article) is to try and take it easy on those causing difficulties in our life. We love(d) them for a reason. Celebrate that. They helped us become the people we are today, and that’s worthy of being honored.

~ Full Moon in Pisces ~

One of the saving graces this month is the Full Moon in Pisces on September 19th. It reminds us all that the Sacred Feminine has not only returned to our tired and abused planet, it’s beginning to put the smack down. It’s simply not taking any more masculine, top-down, hierarchical bullshit anymore.

I, for one, am loving every minute of it. Any time I go out to eat and see some guy (or gal) tell their wife how awful their day was for the umpteenth time; and then their partner cuts them off and says, “What about my day?” Then reach for the check and say he better be prepared to put out when they get home, I just have to laugh my ass off.

It reminds me of an old, feminist joke I heard long ago: “God’s coming back and she’s pissed!” Not that I think the we need to reverse the unbalanced, sexual patterns, but it tickles me to no end to see guys have to back up and give the ladies some space to spread their wings and demand a little attention, too. *grin*

Thank goodness! I don’t think I can take one more day of some self-centered jackass telling me it’s all about who is strongest or smartest or how much stuff we have in life. Really? ‘Cause I can’t see how any of that fits into doing the right thing for our children. It seems to me it’s more about making sure everyone has enough to eat today than how much we’ll have in the bank tomorrow. Personally, I’d rather learn how we can share love than how much we should be charging for it.

This Full Moon is a chance to get out and get funky with the spiritual undercurrent flooding the planet these days. Pisces is about the whole enchilada, not just who is spiciest. We all count now, and the days of Kings and Presidents are over.

The uprising against the Old Boy’s Club all over the world is astounding. People have had enough of being told a corporate, imperial authority knows what’s best for them as the town well not only runs dry, but is dug up and replaced with a mini-mall that now sells the water for $1.99.

People are no longer happy with outdated goals and social values. They’re starting to fight back. We’re waking up to the wicked, debt-based, pyramid scheme and we see that the old system is at an end. Anyone who is awake knows it.

It’s time to let go of a phoney future with heaps of meaningless, stacks of paper and get on with a brighter today where all beings are recognized for their innate, living expression of Spirit. Money has no place in that. This Full Piscean Moon gives us a chance to groove to the new planetary rhythm.

Just, you know, try not to step on anyone’s toes while dancing up a storm.

Then again…

~ Finding the Way ~

As we can see, the month of Virgo will be quite challenging. Although for those that have been tinkering away on their karma and personal integrity, it should be a cakewalk. It really depends on whether we’ve been doing the work, I think. It may be painful for some, but this year will give a lot of people the chance to catch up with the Way-showers.

For those who are currently struggling to keep their head above water, try not to sweat it too much. This is all part of the cleansing we had to go through to see that we have are not to blame for failing at capitalism and consumer greed. It’s not our fault that we don’t want to screw over our neighbors for a bigger slice of the pie.

The truth is there is no pie.

World peace is in our grasp if we all stand together. Well, most of us, anyway. People are ready for a better, fairer planet. All we have to do now is be true to each other and do what Earthlings do best—feel and create and be passionate.

In other words, it’s time to get out there, shake our little Gaian booty, and bring it on home!

~ You’re not Lost ~

I choose the song ‘Lost’ by Sunlounger to remind us that even in our darkest moments we are never really that far from home, if only we remember to let our Heart shine when all else fails. It’s in that instant that we’ll see that the Universe will never let us get too far from what matters most—love. And that’s a comforting thought.

There is so much difficulty surrounding us these days that many people have drawn the curtains and gone back to bed. Suffering has become so commonplace, it’s a wonder anyone even tries to make a difference anymore. Still, not only can we make a difference, but each of us is the difference.

Miracles are happening all the time. If we can’t see them, trying making one happen for someone else. In so doing, we imbue our own lives with magick; and, in the end, we become the miracle we were looking for all along.

Blessed Be,

If you would like to be taken off the list, send a blank email with ‘Please Remove Me’ in the subject line. All new guides come out a few days before the sun moves into a new sign.

** I make no note of the new moon in these guides as it is hidden for a reason. All witches know that it’s not about verbal expression, anyway, it’s about the crazy, whirling, dance of life, the feeling of skin on skin, the spark of creation, the point within the circle. Talking about it is akin to standing up during the denouement of a play and asking if anyone else gets it. Just let it be.

I’ll leave it up to everyone to discover the elements surrounding the ritual of the new moon and its current sign for themselves. For, within that, one will discover the sacred path that eludes the uninitiated.

See you on the dark side of the moon.
