‘energy addicts’ by industrial designer naomi kizhner is speculative a project that responds to a possible future of depleting resources. the work delves into a world in which there is a significant decline, which forces humanity to seek all the more forcefully for alternative ways of cultivating power. the suggested solution to the dilemma is based on the idea of biological wealth, harvesting energy directly from the body. using invasive metal and acrylic devices that must be embedded into the surface of the skin, simple movements performed by the subconscious are fully utilized.

each appliance has a form that compliments the area to which it must be placed. for instance, the ‘blinker’ is a fully symmetrical construct that wraps tightly around the bridge of the nose between the eyebrow bones of the face.this allows the amount of times that the eyes are opened and closed to be tracked while generating electricity.

the ‘e-pulse conductor’ harvests energy from pulses sent directly from the neurological system to its location on a person’s back near the nape. its clear shell exposes the curves of golden strands that resemble the nerves of the body towards needles on both ends of its design.

the ‘blood bridge’ inserts into the forearm below the wrist. as the heart pumps fluid throughout the veins and organs, the enclosed wheel gathers the power to convert it into a resource.
