Collective Evolution

IN BRIEF

  • The Facts:Several readers felt that a few of my preceding articles on Venezuela cast President Nicolas Maduro in too positive a light.
  • Reflect On:Can we see that geopolitical situations are rarely black and white, and it is important for us to have an appreciation for both sides in order to be properly informed?

Previous articles I have written about the self-serving involvement of Western globalists in the affairs of Venezuela, including ‘Globalists Want Venezuela As The Next Jewel In Their Crown‘ and ‘Burning Aid Trucks In Venezuela Bring Western Propaganda To Light,’ have led several readers to comment to me that I am ignorantly painting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in a positive light.

One reader, for example, argued that there are efforts on the part of the U.S., Columbia, and Brazil to dismantle this drug-cartel fueled terrorist state, which has caused untold suffering and poverty for its citizens:

With all due respect, I just wonder where you might get all the false information you wrote on your article…Maduro’s a dictator. This is NOT a conventional dictatorship that is being dismantled In Venezuela.

An emporium of Narco-trafficking, Terrorism and International Crime is being dismantled. This emporium has used the enormous resources of an entire State of a Rich Country and with a privileged geopolitical position. The exit of three occupation armies is taking place.

Another reader felt that the first article put the credibility of CE into question:

I was recently a subscriber to CE however because of todays article regarding Venezuela I have decided that I no longer want anything to do with CE. I used to agree on most of the posts that I would see however today struck a nerve.

I am an American. I live in Florida. I have many friends from who have migrated to our country because of the devastation of their homeland Venezuela.

I know of what has been going on in their country not through mainstream media or other forms of alternative media, such as CE. Your article can not be more incorrect on what is actually going on in that country.

All of the people that I know here who are Venezuelan (who don’t even know each other) all have told me mostly the same information of that travesty that has taken place in their country over the years because of what Chavez did and now Maduro has done.

Maduro “won” the election (that only had less than 20% of a voter turnout) because he had no opposition because the opposition was silenced. They were either put in jail or killed. The only ones who voted were the very few whom were working for Maduro’s government and were forced to vote for him.

It would be almost like if Trump decided in the next election to lock up or silence the Democrats and only allow registered Republicans to vote. The same result would happen. My friends have told me how he has abused his power in controlling the wealth of the country and basically making himself a dictator.

Throwing The Baby Out With The Bath Water

I would say that a careful read of the two articles that I wrote previously on the subject of Venezuela do not negate the information offered by these readers. What these readers appear to be objecting to is that I am speaking on a subject involving the regime of Nicolas Maduro without providing detailed, incisive information about his regime or what is going on in Venezuela.

If that is the case, then I am guilty as charged–though completely lacking the resources and trusted sources to do so. Again, the subject of the articles was not Nicolas Maduro, it was about Western interference in the affairs of a sovereign state for their own economic and strategic benefits.

One reader went so far as to suggest that Western powers tried to legitimize Juan Guaidó‘s self-appointment as the country’s de facto leader solely based on a desire to terminate a cruel dictator and bring justice and prosperity to the citizens of Venezuela. I believe this is a bit naive, as it belies the consistent pattern throughout history of a Western colonialist and imperialist mindset, which continues to this day in the form of soft coups and covert military takeovers in countries whose leaders were not aligned with Western hegemony.

Is it not possible to say that Nicolas Maduro is fighting off evil forces without implying that he is a ‘positive’ force and a protector of his people? This is the matter at hand.

Perception And Discernment

I can concede that, if I don’t include any commentary on Maduro or his regime in my articles, some readers might end up with the perception that he is necessarily the legitimate leader of the country and is not engaging in any major fraud or corruption that enriches him personally in the process at the expense of his citizens.

It is with this in mind that I bring forward a third reader email in full, because in reading it I felt it went beyond the ‘either/or’ perception and would be of benefit to readers interested in this subject.

Hi Richard,

I am aware I am a total stranger so this is weird, but I read your article in the Collective Evolution website titled “Burning Aid Truck in Venezuela Bring Western Propaganda to Light” and felt compelled to write you.

I have followed Collective Evolution for a few years now, starting when I turned 23 and had a massive spiritual awakening which has propelled me to take part in social initiatives around the world and explore consciousness as an obsessive hobby. I have lived in 5 countries, visited over 33, for now,  and have fought for Venezuela since the age of 10 against the dictatorships of Chavez and Maduro.

I am the first person to say the American government is total horse shit! Colonialism was a sham, western media is nothing worse than Mexican telenovelas and will not believe an ounce of anything ever told to me.

I am writing all of this because it is important for you to know, that what I am about to say comes from a person that agrees with your overall perspective of the world but still disagrees with certain aspect of your article.

I very much agree that CNN is the purveyor of false news, but there are certain facts about the Venezuelan issue that are being misrepresented. I would like to explain that the western media is not the point of what is happening in Venezuela, claiming Maduro is being portrayed in a bad light when he is not responsible is completely INCORRECT.

Being a Venezuelan, living through at least three coup d’etats, having my family and friends be kidnapped and killed because of the ever so growing kidnapping industry in the country is very real and horrifying. Maduro is a man that has no experience in government or international politics and he barely understands what the meaning of an economy is. He has in fact burned political polls and aid previously and this is not the first account.

The reason, very simple, he is not very smart. It is well known that he is the head of the government run drug cartel “Cartel of the Sun”, is taking millions of dollars out of the country that he has corruptly earned and has run Venezuela to the ground. This has been happening since 2001, it is just now being discussed seriously by the Western media.

I agree that Western media is false especially knowing the historical American agenda of imperialism. Venezuela has suffered greatly from American government infiltrations since the 50s and their role in meddling for oil is vastly true. However, the Socialist dictatorship, Maduro and his gremlins (please google “Diosdado Cabello drug trafficking” and “Cartel of the Sun”) are also taking advantage of the oil, the kidnapping industry, and have themselves placed hits on people around the country for no reason but because they were “against” the government.

My point is, both sides are shit and that should be acknowledged to your readers.

It would be really appreciated by myself and Venezuelan people if this reality can also be expressed. We have suffered a regime that has made us resentful and angry, and the western intake in this struggle should not take away from the years of hardship we have endured from oppressive leaders and badly run Socialist governments.

I would like to suggest for you to write another article about the other side of the issue.

I will gladly speak with you further about this and very open to have a conversation. Hope you are having a wonderful week,

Fernanda

The Takeaway

Part of our evolution involves the development of our faculties of discernment, and a move away from the polarity and stagnation of for/against, black/white perception in favor of an examination of and appreciation for the various shades of grey in many of these situations. It is important that we give equal consideration to both sides of debates or conflicts in order to see there is inevitably some truth on both sides, and only a synthesis of the two provides us with a true understanding of the situation, as well as a means to resolve it.
