The theories that I’ll be proposing in this article are controversial and deal with CERN, Saturn, the Saturn Ship or Sun, and inter-dimensional portals. Concepts like “the Saturn Sun”, “Cosmic Mountain”, and “the Saturn cube” will probably seem bewildering to most people and so I would suggest reading and watching explanatory web-pages and videos, where the job is already done (referenced in the article). This article suggests that CERN may be a recreation of the Tower of Babel. I have kept the writing intentionally short and to the point and its split up into sections. The most important section is the “Saturn Stargate”.
But before getting into this I’d like to declare my position on space. I don’t subscribe to the conventional view of space or planets according to agencies like NASA. To my mind, NASA is part of the paraphernalia that the elites are using for the production of stage-managed ‘space exploration’. Three paragraphs here were taken from correspondence with a friend, highlighted in green. I’ll be referencing movies as I think they contain more truth than people realise. THE SATURN MYTH
In the book, ‘The Saturn Myth’ (inspired by the work of Immanuel Velikovsky) David Talbott ‘explores the celestial events that shaped early cultures’. Talbott argues that ‘the ‘Great God’ or ‘Universal Monarch’ of the ancients was not the Sun, but Saturn, which once hung ominously over Earth and visually dominated the skies’. There was a time when Saturn was closer to Earth and fixed ‘stationary’ in the sky. Based on ancient accounts throughout the world, Talbott describes a period of ‘great upheaval’ in celestial bodies, when Saturn, Venus and Mars descended and aligned. Various catastrophes ensued, and a ‘Cosmic Mars Mountain’ eventually formed, seemingly connecting to Saturn, as though it were a pathway of sorts (seehere, here and here). The symbol on the cover of the Saturn Myth shows up in various civilisations around the world and one of the symbols in that link shows the two equilateral triangles of the Solomon Seal on top of the Cosmic Mountain in place of Saturn. Saturn is referred to by some as the ‘God of one-thousand names’ and is identified with both male and female deities.
During this period of ‘celestial upheaval’, Saturn (and the bodies that were aligned with it) went through various configurations (see the video-series ‘Discourses on an Alien Sky’) and at one point even formed a triangle and an eye, which Talbott associates with the ‘All-Seeing-Eye’. However, the symbol appears to be mostly characterised by an 8-spoked wheel. The crescent under Saturn (as shown in the links above) was subsequently morphed, and anthropomorphised. The Saturn-crescent was morphed into wings, with the solar disc (Ra or Saturn) placed in the centre, such as with the Egyptian winged Kheprer, the Assyrian winged Asshur, or the 8-spoked wheel of Shamash (Saturn). Talbott explains the Sun God of the archaic day was Shamash, Sol, Ra (Re) and Helios, which were identified with Saturn. Here is an image of Saturn holding an 8-spoked wheel (as shown in ‘Discourses on an Alien Sky’).

❝One of Saturn’s most extraordinary possessions is the ark of heaven. Saturn is “literally represented as sailing over the ocean in a ship” remarks Faber. The latter god, as Saturn’s alter ego, was the “inventor” of barks and ships. All of the Saturnian gods of the Sumero-Babylonian pantheon sail in a celestial ship, one of whose names is Magula-anna, “Great boat of Heaven”. The “beloved ship” of Ningirsu is “the one that rises up out of the dam of the deep”. Ea rides “the ship of the antelope of the Apsu” while Ninurta sails in the ship Magur. The Chinese Huang-ti — Saturn — was the first to sail in a ship. In his journey across the ocean, Hercules rode in a “golden goblet” — the ship of Helios (Saturn) — to which one compares the “new-moon” boat of Dionysus. A ship of “self-made light” transports the Avestan great god Yima (Saturn)❞❝Of the crescent in the primary images and ancient sources present these basic forms: The Horns of the bull-god (or cow-goddess). The great father’s ship. The uplifted arms of the heaven-sustaining giant. The outstretched wings of the mother goddess (or winged god). But these same wings, or arms, constitute the great god’s sailing vessel — which in turn is depicted as two shining horns❞
Click here to see a drawing of the Boat of Ra. Notice that the Boat of Ra (or Saturn Ship) looks similar to traditional depictions of worm-holes. This may seem like a rather ridiculous and left-field thing to say, but it’ll become increasingly pertinent.
As Talbott points out in ‘The Saturn Myth’, Saturn was associated with the winged-disc symbol, which was sometimes positioned on top of the Cosmic Tree (representing the Cosmic Mountain) or beside a ship. Ra (Saturn) was perpetually resurrected in the form of the Scarab beetle. He sailed on the primordial waters and was resurrected in a continuous cycle of death and rebirth. This idea of Saturn-resurrection could be associated with worm-holes. The 8-spoked wheel below (in the middle) is Shamash (Saturn).
THE 8-POINTED STAR/WHEEL IS ALSO IDENTIFIED WITH INANNA BUT I’LL BE REFERRING TO IT AS SHAMASH
Here the Saturn-crescent is represented by the head-dress upon the ‘outstretched wings of the goddess’. The crescent is also represented by the Egyptian winged Phoenix (see here) which the eagle on the Dollar Bill appears to be inspired by. The eagle has the equilateral triangles of the Solomon Seal above its head and the Prometheus badge (on the left) is inspired by the Egyptian Phoenix and features Saturn. Here is a drawing of the scorpion men (possibly a representation of the ‘two peaks [or the two pillars] of the world mountain’) standing outside the gates of Shamash at Mashu Mountain. As Talbott explains, ‘In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the hero journeys to the Mashu Mountain upon which the vault of Heaven rests’.
Tracy Twyman notes similarities between the Ark of Noah, the Ark of the Covenant and Saturn Ship:
❝It is worth noting similarities between the Ark of Noah and the Ark of the Covenant. Just as the celestial boat was sometimes called the “Chariot of the Sun”, the Ark of the Covenant was called the “Chariot of God”. Also, God’s throne in Heaven is described in the Bible as a chariot, and the Ark of the Covenant is referred to as God’s throne, while the Ship of Saturn was believed to contain his throne as well. The word Ark means container and is the root of a family of words in several languages that mean coffin, prison, boat, and secret. This is what Saturn’s Island was. The other type can be thought of as a travelling vessel. The magician places himself within the circle and then he can safely travel to unseen astral realms without harming his mortal body. The universe around him is transformed, but he retains his own little bit of his home-reality within the circle. In this sense it is similar to a magic carpet. This, I think, is what Noah’s Ark [or the Ship of Saturn] was. It was a hermetically-sealed vessel that allowed passengers to be raised up into a higher dimension, so that while the world transformed around them, they stayed safe within. When they exited the Ark, they were in a new world❞
It’s worth pointing out that in ‘Discourses of an Alien Sky#19’ (and ‘The Saturn Myth’) Talbott associates the Cosmic Mountain with Mount Olympus, Mount Zion and Tower of Babel (inter alia). He also associates it with the ‘uplifted arms of the heaven-sustaining giant’.
THE BLACK SUN
The Black Sun is often equated with Saturn. The Black Sun is referred to as ‘Sonnenrad’ which translates to ‘Sun Wheel’. Like Saturn, the Sun Wheel is often represented by an 8-spoked wheel. The swatstika was a symbol for the Black Sun as seen in ancient Zierscheiben. The swatstika is also often shown within wings, further associating it with Saturn. Throughout this article I’ll be using the terms ‘Saturn Sun’, ‘Saturn Ship’ and ‘Black Sun’ interchangeably, because I believe they represent essentially the same thing, though the Saturn Ship may not be entirely equatable to the Saturn Sun, because other bodies (such as Venus or Jupiter) may have aligned in front of Saturn and the Cosmic Mountain could have led to different bodies at different periods, during these celestial configurations. The Saturn Ship, as explained by David Talbott, originated from the Saturn-crescent.
ENTITIES EMERGING FROM AN 8-SPOKED WHEEL
Quote from researcher William Henry:
❝The Mayans say from out of this tree/star alignment comes a serpent rope with an enlightened being named Quetzalcoatl riding upon it and a blessed substance’ or ‘sap’ the Mayans called Itz (literally ‘the blessed substance’) apparently spewing from it. In Mayan belief a serpent rope emerges from the center of the galaxy — symbolised by an 8-rayed or 8-spoked wheel. Cosmic sap oozes from this World Tree or Cosmic Cross. But perhaps even more intriguing is the picture that developed when Mayan scholar John Major Jenkins replaced the Mayan term “serpent rope” with the appropriate modern-word “wormhole”. I find it highly interesting that this ‘wormhole’ he is emerging from is an 8-rayed symbol (the galaxy) that matches the 8-rayed or 8-spoked Large Hadron Collider at CERN❞
Paraphrase: ‘CERN was created ostensibly in order to ‘recreate’ the conditions of the early universe after the ‘Big Bang’ as a possible means of testing the Big Bang theory which has dominated physics since the middle of the last century. The CERN facility is basically a giant particle-accelerator housed in a twenty-odd mile long circular tunnel bored inside a Swiss mountain. Its experimental ‘test’ of the Big Bang theory has focused on the search for the elusive Higgs Boson (the ‘God particle’) because the Big Bang theorists believe that the universe could not have been created without it. However anyone who examines the Big Bang theory honestly and in sufficient depth can see that it does not hold water and contains holes in its logic so large that a galactic supercluster could be driven through them. It is just like AGW theory but on a cosmic scale instead of a merely terrestrial one. No experimental tests at all for this are needed and so it is a wonder how this half-baked nonsense has become the holy cow of science. The experimental ‘tests’ provided by CERN are superfluous and its creation was not needed for the stated scientific purpose’.
CERN’s particle accelerator’s true purpose, in my view, is to access an inter-dimensional doorway and this is not just hinted by their iconography and occult connections (as others have pointed out) but something they have suggested themselves. The director of CERN, Bertolucci, said that: “The Large Hadron Collider could open a door to another dimension and out this doorway might come something, or we might send something through it”. The name CERN is an abbreviation of “CERNUNNOS” — the god of the underworld, who’s mythologically similar to Osiris, Enki, Nimrod or Ninurta. CERN also have a Shiva statue outside the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), symbolising the cosmic dance of “creation and destruction” and CERN have performed a so-called dance of destruction in a video that you can watch on YouTube called ‘Symmetry’ and another video that they exhibited is called ‘Black Rain’.

CERN’s particle accelerator’s is essentially one ginormous electromagnetic machine:
❝All the magnets on the LHC are electromagnets. The main dipoles generate powerful 8.3 tesla magnetic fields — more than 100,000 times more powerful than the Earth’s magnetic field. The electromagnets use a current of 11,080 amperes to produce the field, and a superconducting coil allows the high currents to flow without losing any energy to electrical resistance❞
Electromagnetism was said to be the “discharge of the creative force”, and the “unification of the electric and magnetic forces was the secret behind the productivity of nature” and “Fire was said to be hidden in magnetism whose symbols appear to have been incorporated into Masonic doctrine. Magnetism was fire, called “Aesh” and electricity was water, called “Majim”. The two elements were symbolised by equilateral triangles with the fire pointing upwards and the water downwards”. Their amalgamation made the Star of David or Seal of Solomon. The Egyptian hieroglyph 𓈖 is represented by ‘N’ and historically is said to be the origin for ‘M’. The hieroglyphic wave resembles the electromagnetic waves in physics.
The CERN logo appears to depict a 666:

666 represents different things to different people. The geometric qualities of the two equilateral triangles correspond to 666 and the total sum of the interior angels of the two equilateral triangles add up to 2160 which multiplies as 6*6*6 (in numerology zeros are ignored). Furthermore, the angular dimensions of the typical equilateral triangle add up to 666; again ignoring the zeros. 666 might therefore be thought of as a numerological representation of the Solomon Seal. Solomon is also associated with the 666 gold talents and 666 relates to the Saturn Square which makes up the Seal of Solomon (or Saturn Seal) and equates to 666 when calculated horizontally and vertically.
It’s interesting to note that every syllable of Solomon relates to the Sun. Sol is Latin for Sun, Om is Hindu for Sun and On is Egyptian for Sun. According to Talbott, the Sun God of the archaic day was Shamash, Ra, Helios, and Sol — identified with Saturn. The Solomon Seal could be connected to Orion which in its basic form is two interlocking triangles, just as we see with the Solomon Seal. The Solomon Seal appears in this Sumerian cylinder seal with Ninurta who in the astral-theological system was associated with Saturn. Saturn represented Osiris who represented Orion for the Egyptians (see Immanuel Velikovsky). So, there probably is a connection between Orion and the Solomon Seal (Orion could possibly even be the Solomon Seal). Author Wayne Herschel associates the Key of Solomon with Orion and interestingly the Book of Job says: “Can you loosen Orion’s belt?” as though Orion were a seal. The two interlocking triangles of Orion are composed of 7 stars and could even be related to the ‘7 Seals’ in Revelation.

The Solomon Seal appears to be intentionally included in the design of the U.S. Dollar Bill:
THE EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH THE GOLDEN RATIO AND TETRAHEDRON
Interestingly, when investigating CERN, researcher Goro Adachi discovered that CERN’s LHC appeared to mirror celestial bodies (see the article ‘CERN: The Orion StarGate: Decoding The Large Hadron Collider’). The bodies that CERN’s LHC appear to mirror include Venus, the Moon and Orion. How smashing particles could create an inter-dimensional portal, as CERN themselves have alluded to, is beyond my ken, but no doubt it’s all perfectly straightforward according to the CERN-people’s theory.
Orion (especially Orion’s Belt) appears to have been mirrored throughout the ancient world:
❝The Orion constellation is a pattern of stars that is repeated in monuments throughout the ancient world, from Egypt to Mexico, this constellation has been the center of the skies for our ancestors, but why was Orion so important to the ancient civilisations? Why are monuments, such as the Pyramids of Egypt mapped in such a way that these constructions mimic the skies? The whole city of Teotihuacán seems to be aligned astronomically. Orion, more than a constellation, it’s a global phenomena❞❝Orion’s Belt points in one direction to Aldebaran in Taurus, and in the other direction to Sirius in Canis Major. Draw a line through Orion’s Belt toward the star Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus the Bull. The Chukchi people see Orion as a hunter; an arrow he has shot is represented by Aldebaran (Alpha Tauri), with the same figure as other Western depictions❞
Based on his analysis of star-maps, Wayne Herschel theorises that the Taurus constellation (that contains Aldebaran) may be associated with a stargate. See his YouTube video ‘The Alpha Omega Taurus Stargate Revelation’ or his site ‘The Hidden Records’. The images below I think could be possible references to this Taurus-Aldebaran stargate. Below is a commercial from HUAWEI, appropriately named ‘Ascend’, showing a Mason with the Masonic Square and Compass, timing his running to collide with the white horse. In the iconic 1950s movie Ben Hur, Aldebaran was the name given to one of the white horses. After they collide, they explode like a particle collision. The ‘Bull’s Eye’ in the Taurus constellation is literally represented by the star Aldebaran. In another commercial from Target, called ‘Alice in Marshmallow Land’, Alice follows the mascot Bullseye and enters a bullseye portal. Wayne Herschel shows that Orion aligns with Aldebaran (and the Pleiades) at approximately 33 degrees of arc.

❝Aldebaran is said to be a portal to the mysteries of the mind and when balanced with the fixed star Antares, a portal to the mysteries of the heart — this creates a powerful stargate axis that is illuminated bi-annally when the Sun passes by Aldebaran at the 1st of June and then Antares about six months later❞
You can see an analysis of the ‘Alice in Marshmallow Land’ commercial here. With some imagination, the Target logo can even be rearranged to create ‘Stargate’.
The Taurus cluster appears to be depicted in Mesopotamian and Sumerian cylinder seals, accompanied by the Saturn winged-disc, positioned on top of the Cosmic Tree (or Cosmic Mountain). See here and here. The cluster in the top left appears to show the 7 stars of the Taurus cluster, characterised by its > shape and the inclusion of the Bull in the bottom left corner. My view is that Aldebaran and Orion are essentially seals that can be unsealed, which in turn opens an inter-dimensional door or pathway.
Various researchers, such as William Henry and Anthony Patch, have suggested that CERN is attempting to recreate the Tower of Babel and given CERN’s various images and appellations this might be true. The Cosmic Mountain (which David Talbott associates with the Tower of Babel) was also represented by Atlas (see ‘Discourses on an Alien Sky#13’). In Greek mythology, Atlas bared the weight of the heavens upon his shoulders. CERN refers to its 8-spoked wheel as “ATLAS” which may hint at CERN’s real objective.
THE SATURN-CRESCENT WAS MORPHED INTO THE OUTSTRETCHED ARMS OF THE HEAVEN-SUSTAINING GIANT
Below on the bottom left is the symbol of Sun God Shamash (Saturn) in Sumero-Mesopotamia or Inanna represented by an 8-spoked wheel. CERN displays the same Saturn symbol in some of their images:

Between 2012-2016, the alleged hexagon on Saturn was said to have changed colour, from blue to gold. Nostradamus predicted something will happen in Geneva when the colour of Saturn changes from gold to iron (coincidentally CERN resides in Geneva). I suppose we only have one more colour change to go.

ANGELS AND DEMONS: THE MOVIE THAT FEATURES CERN
Angels and Demons was filmed in CERN. It starts off with CERN initiating the LHC and smashing particles which produces antimatter. The antimatter from CERN is then stolen and planned to be used as a bomb (which I think is just a plot-device to serve as an excuse for the scene explained below). The antimatter is eventually found by McKenna who seizes the unstable antimatter (which is about to explode) and uses a chopper to fly above the Vatican and jumps out as it explodes. The CERN antimatter explodes directly above the 8-spoked ‘Sun Wheel’ (within a keyhole) at the Vatican Courtyard. The Vatican Courtyard Sun Wheel is modelled on the symbol of Shamash. It even has one more circle inside of it, just like the symbol of Shamash. This scene from Angels and Demons, in my view, essentially depicts CERN tearing the veil and accessing the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship that Talbott associates with the Tower of Babel. There are also multiple references throughout the movie to the ‘Path of Illumination’.

THE SATURN STARGATE
There’s a recurring theme throughout media of inter-dimensional travel and 8-spoked wheels or octagons (see here). So, why the preoccupation with 8-spoked wheels and inter-dimensional travel? We know that CERN has an 8-spoked wheel and have said that they could open doorways to other dimensions and there are also accounts from the Mayan civilisation of Quetzalcoatl ‘emerging’ from an 8-spoked wheel as though it were a worm-hole (as suggested by Mayan scholar Major John Jenkins). It’s interesting that the cube is occasionally placed within the 8-spoked wheel and I’ll give an interpretation of this below. The worm-hole from Stargate is probably the most well-known and it’s been re-used elsewhere. It’s been suggested that some of the 8-spoked portals above could be inspired by CERN’s 8-spoked wheel. However I think they’re probably representing the 8-spoked Saturn Sun (which I think is a veritable worm-hole).

Stargate was based on opening a portal to Ra/Re (i.e. Saturn) and archaeologist Daniel Jackson discovers that Orion is one of the keys to accessing the worm-hole. With that in mind, compare the images below:

1) The Cosmic Mountain to the 8-spoked Saturn Sun or Ship from David Talbott (which Talbott associates with Mount Olympus, Mount Zion and the Tower of Babel, inter alia). The symbol is repeated throughout ancient civilisations (see David Talbott’s book ‘The Saturn Myth’ and his video-documentaries) and notice that it’s in the shape of a keyhole 2) The 8-spoked worm-hole from the Stargate movie. In this movie the worm-hole leads to ‘Ra’ and Ra is identified with Saturn — notice again it’s in the shape of a keyhole with the walkway representing the Cosmic Mountain 3) An aerial perspective of the Vatican Courtyard (or St. Peter’s Square) and once again it’s composed of 8-spokes and is in the shape of a keyhole. The 8-spoked Sun Wheel in St. Peter’s Square is modelled on the symbol of Shamash (identified as Saturn), and it was featured prominently in the movie ‘Angels and Demons’ (which was based on CERN, as explained above) and CERN displays Saturn symbolism in their art-work (such as Shamash) and have admitted they could access doors to other dimensions. Researcher Anthony Patch suggests that CERN is attempting to access a worm-hole and associates this worm-hole with the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Sun (he refers to the Cosmic Mountain as a ‘plasma conduit’). Now, the term ‘Saturn Sun’ sounds like a contradiction in terms. However, we are not talking about a Sun in the sense of a giant ball of gas, but rather a singularity or a worm-hole. The prime movers of CERN’s LHC project really are attempting to access an inter-dimensional gateway and this is illustrated straightforwardly by the images above.
The ‘Mountain of Light’ (or the Pillar of Light) was another name for the Cosmic Mountain as Akhet. Pillars of light appear a lot in Saturn-related movies. In Tron: Legacy they escape the simulation through a pillar of light within a keyhole symbol. The image on the bottom left below is from Interstellar.

The Saturn Ship may not be something that one resides within, but rather a worm-hole that enables one to travel to certain points in the space-time continuum instantaneously — as suggested by William Henry (who refers to it as the “Osiris Device”). This is how the Black Sun is often shown. For example, in the TV show Space: 1999 there was an episode called the ‘Black Sun’. When they enter the Black Sun they have a surreal, time-bending experience and are propelled a million light years away. In Wolfenstein, the Black Sun was another dimension and the Nazis attempt to uncover the secrets of the Thule people; an ancient civilisation that discovered how to enter the “Black Sun Dimension” through portals. In the movie Zathura the protagonist enters a black-hole near Saturn and travels back in time. In Interstellar Cooper enters a worm-hole near Saturn which servers as a shortcut to a distant region of space and in Planet of the Apes (2001) the electromagnetic worm-hole that Leo uses to time-travel is located near Saturn. In Outlanders, the ‘Brotherhood of the Black Sun’ and Aleister Crowley use geomancy to time-travel. The Black (Saturn) Sun (with the characteristic circumpunct) can also be seen in Freemason Tracing Boards.
THE PILLARS ARE LIKELY BASED ON AKHET FROM THE SATURN-CRESCENT
Quote from William Henry:
❝In the 23rd century B.C. the Sumerian king, Nimrod, built a ladder — symbolised by a H — or Tower (actually a gate) that reached from Babylon into the stars. The jealous Israelite god Yahweh got nervous about humankind ‘making a Name or Renown’ for itself by building this Gate. If successful, says the Book of Genesis, “nothing we can imagine would be impossible for us”. Biblical scholars say Nimrod was known as Osiris, the Egyptian god of resurrection, in Egypt. Both are associated with ladders or stairways to Heaven. This point is key. Inside Sety’s 14th century B.C. temple at Abydos, in the Osiris Chapel, is the magnificent depiction of Osiris as a pillar or tower. In fact, the Egyptians called this Osiris pillar the Ta-Wer or “bond between Heaven and Earth”. Sounds like Babel to me. On the opposite wall of the Osiris Chapel at Abydos is the Osiris Device, enhanced, I noticed, with the ship of eternity upon which the king will sail into eternity as a star. This ship resembles a modern drawing of a worm-hole. Pay particular attention to Sety who appears to have transformed his body into the Osiris Device, or is coming out of it. This is a wonderful moment of transformation and resurrection❞

Interestingly, and probably not coincidentally, the Black Sun and the Saturn Eye are similar to depictions of black-holes (see here). A worm-hole is able to connect very long distances and even different points in time. Quote: “Another way to imagine wormholes is to take a sheet of paper and draw two distant points on one side of the paper — the sheet of paper represents a plane in the space-time continuum, and the two points represent a distance to be travelled. However theoretically, a wormhole could connect the two points by folding that plane so the points were touching. In this way, it would be much easier to traverse the distance since the two points are now touching”.
There are Saturn TV references in the last section of this post, but the one below (from the movie Peggy Sue Got Married), I think is especially pertinent to what’s discussed above. In Peggy Sue Got Married, as Richard explains to Peggy that time-travel is possible by folding space, thereby creating a worm-hole, we see a drawing of Saturn on the wall behind them. I thought this was interesting (and highly coincidental) given the connections between Saturn, the keyhole and worm-holes. THE ”LOST KEYS OF FREEMASONRY” THAT DEPICTS THE SATURN WINGED-DISC BETWEEN THE TWO PILLARS
Finally, the reason as to why the cube is so frequently shown within the 8-spoked wheel could be because the 8-spoked wheel is the gateway out of the cube (and this dimension) or beyond time and space.
SATURN AND THE CUBE
The Saturn cube is represented in various ways. However, the most common theme it seems to me is that whomever possesses the cube has power over others. The cube is sometimes portrayed as having power to create life, and reality in general, essentially giving its possessor the power of God.
‘The cube is one of five “Platonic solids” and the straight lines passing from its centre through the centres of each of its opposing six faces and continuing to infinity constitute the Cartesian axes of the commonly-perceived 3-dimensional space. In most esoteric systems, the cosmos/universe is held to be the result of the union between Heaven and Earth. Heaven is traditionally represented in 3-dimensions, by the sphere (in 2-dimensions, by the circle), and Earth is represented by the cube (in 2-dimensions, by the square). Here, ‘Heaven’ refers to the universal principle of consciousness (i.e. ‘spirit’, called ‘Purusa’ in the ancient Indian tradition) and ‘Earth’ refers primarily to the 3-dimensional spatial matrix where individual impulses of the spirit are given apparent material forms. In this traditional esoteric conception, the symbols of the Earth and the cube represent the reality we experience as the physical/sensory world’.
Transformers gives a short description of the cube:
❝Before time began, there was the cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds, and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony. But like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so, began the war❞
Below the Egyptian Ptah is holding the cube in his hand. Ptah was the “creator god” (Memphis Demiurge) who brought himself into existence. The cube is often portrayed as something humans reside within.

Saturn and the cube have been associated with illusory reality and this idea has been dubbed the ‘Saturn Matrix’ and ‘Saturn-Moon Matrix’. Quote from the ‘Encyclopedia of Western Signs and Ideograms’: “Ψ is Nirvana, the mystical perception of godliness and truth, non-attachment. Along with Saturn,⚳ [inverted] it stands for maya, the illusory reality”.

The flash-light image below from The Matrix may not be a reference to Saturn and merely a coincidence. However, given the Saturn Matrix is suggested by many to be generating the virtual reality world that we experience I find this Saturn-like image in The Matrix too coincidental. Quote from Rosette Delacroix: “[At the beginning of The Matrix movie as the camera enters into the Matrix] They go from the main frame of digital images to the image of a light with a ring — Saturn”.
Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ has similarities with Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. The protagonist, Joseph Cooper, enters a worm-hole near Saturn and finds himself viewing Earth from a higher dimension within a tesseract — or a ‘4-dimensional cube’ — and the inhabitants of Earth are residing within this 4-dimensional cube and unaware of Cooper’s existence in the higher dimension. Cooper eventually escapes the 4-dimensional cube (near Saturn) and is transported to a new environment, where reality is radically different to Earth. In this place, he sees Monolith-TVs (here) and within the TVs are people on Earth that he left behind. In Space Odyssey, the Monolith was originally designed as a cube. One could interpret this as Cooper escaping the Saturn cube and then viewing those on Earth still trapped within it.
IN INTERSTELLR THE INHABITANTS OF EARTH RESIDE WITHIN THE 4-DIMENSIONAL CUBE
In the movie Prometheus an 8-spoked wheel, that’s characteristic of Shamash (❇) contains a holographic projection of the universe. The holographic projection is produced within the Juggernaut ship on a world near a Saturn-like body and the ship appears somewhat symbolic of Saturn’s Ouroboros. Prometheus also references Mount Olympus (which according to Talbott was another name for the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship). The Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship is often depicted between two pillars (i.e. the ‘two peaks of the world mountain’ as Talbott refers to them). Essentially, in the scene below, David is viewing the Earth and the ‘universe’ from outside from within an 8-spoked wheel after accessing the Saturn Ship (my analysis of Prometheus is further down in this article). This reminds me of the Flammarion Engraving (1888) which depicts a traveller who puts his head under the edge of the Flat Earth firmament as though he were observing the true reality that lay outside of the firmament and when the picture is mirrored we see an 8-spoked wheel between two trees or pillars (here). This is how the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship is depicted, with the pillars represented by Akhet. To put it simply, the 8-spoked Saturn Sun can be thought of as the source and the exit of the matrix and this will be elaborated on below.
DAVID STANDS WITHIN THE SATURN SHIP (EXPLAINED BELOW) AND SEES A HOLOGRAPHIC PROJECTION OF THE UNIVERSE
THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR
The music video ‘This Is What You Came For’ centres around the cube. Singer Rihanna is within the cube and environments (or reality) are projected on the inside. In the official version of the music video there’s a chorus where it sounds as though Rihanna is singing, ‘cube, cube, cube’.
The idea that our reality could be an illusion of sorts is not so far-fetched. One theory that might support this idea is the holographic principle for a black-hole. The holographic principle says that “everything that happens in space can be explained in terms of information that is somehow stored on the surface of that space. For example, picture a 3-dimensional space that resides inside the 2-dimensional curled surface of a cylinder. You reside inside this space — but perhaps some shadow or reflection resides on the surface. Another example, and one that is perhaps clearer, is to picture yourself inside a large cube. Each wall of the cube is a giant television screen that contains images of the objects inside the cube”, somewhat like the images above. Quote: “If Indiana University cosmologist Nikodem Poplawski analysis is right we may be living inside a black-hole. His observations on the motion of particles entering black-holes suggest that black-holes may not be singularities, but bridges to different universes. The research says that a person falling into a black-hole would actually be absorbed into a hologram without even noticing”. Let’s say you dropped something into a black-hole. A copy of the information it contains would get smeared out on the surface of the black-hole in the same way information is stored on a computer. So, the object would exist in two places simultaneously: A 3-dimensional version in the black-hole and a 2-dimensional version that remains on the surface as information. This idea is not new. Carl Sagan once said: “If you want to know what it’s like inside a black-hole look around you”. Theoretically a black-hole could contain a universe and the Saturn cube could be an expression of a black-hole. The Metatron’s cube (or tesseract) parallels some illustrations associated with black-holes. There could even exist a simulated black-hole.

❝The universe could be a ‘vast hologram’ and our perception of life in 3D may only be an illusion. That’s according to a group of theoretical physicists. They say they have found ‘substantial evidence’ to support the idea of a holographic universe that will transform our knowledge of the entire universe. The principle suggests that, like the security chip on your credit card, there is a two-dimensional surface that contains all the information needed to describe a three-dimensional object — which in this case is our universe. In essence, the theory claims that data containing a description of a volume of space — such as a human or comet — could be hidden in a region of this flattened, ‘real’ version of the universe. In a black-hole, for instance, all the objects that ever fall into it would be entirely contained in surface fluctuations, almost like a piece of computer memory contained in a chip. In a larger sense, the theory suggests the entire universe can be seen as a ‘two-dimensional structure projected onto a cosmological horizon’ — or in simpler terms, a projection❞❝Several physicists, cosmologists and technologists now entertain the idea that we are all living inside a gigantic computer simulation, experiencing a Matrix-style virtual world that we mistakenly think is real. Technology entrepreneur Elon Musk has asserted that the odds are some ‘a billion to one’ against us living within ‘base reality’. Meanwhile, whilst exploring the mathematics of String Theory, Theoretical Physicist James Gates (and his researcher) have discovered something rather interesting “buried deep” within the mathematical equations of Super Symmetry. They found computer code. And it isn’t just random 1’s and 0’s either. Bizarrely, the code that they found is code which is used in computer browser operating system software, with Gates exclaiming, ‘I’m left with the puzzle of trying to figure out if I live in The Matrix’❞
The holographic principle harks back to the allegory of Plato’s cave, which describes “a group of prisoners who have lived chained to a wall of a cave all of their lives. The prisoners watch 2-dimensional shadows projected on the wall from 3-dimensional objects passing in front of a fire behind them and give names to these shadows — the shadows are the prisoners’ reality. Socrates explains how the philosopher is like a prisoner who has freed himself from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall are not reality, for he can perceive the ‘true’ form of reality, rather than the manufactured reality that is the shadows seen by the prisoners”. The idea we could be in some Baudrillardian illusory reality is something that people may dismiss as ridiculous, but it’s definitely gaining credibility. Another possible reference to the Saturn cube is Kepler’s Platonic solid model from Mysterium Cosmographicum (1600) that depicts the Sol System encased within the cube and Saturn. This somewhat reminds me of Soundgarden’s Black Rain video (interestingly, CERN also exhibited a video called Black Rain). In this video, we see the Sol System encased within the cube (with 8 ‘planets’ in concentric circles around the Sun). The cube is what we (and our manufactured reality) could reside within and this is how it’s often portrayed.
Assuming provisionally for argument’s sake that we humans resided within the Saturn cube and that this cube contained some manufactured reality of sorts that could possibly be associated with the holographic principle for black-holes, then perhaps when one exits the cube they are then able to see within the cube from outside. This is possibly why Bowman said: “It’s full of stars” in Space Odyssey. He may have been observing the Monolith (which was originally designed to be a cube) from outside. Similar to Interstellar, where the Monolith-shaped android is called TARS — an allusion to the Monolith containing STARS — and when Cooper escapes the ‘4-dimensional cube’ (next to Saturn) he sees Monolith-shaped TVs and within those TVs are the people on Earth that he left behind. Cooper exited the cube to a bizarre and seemingly new world. But this seemingly new world was the original world, which is why they say ‘Is this really what it was like?’ We see a similar thing in Destiny, where the Traveler, a.k.a. ‘Great Machine’ (which burrowed within Saturn) was a “topologically-creative enclosure” that essentially contained the universe within itself. Those outside of the Traveler can see the stars within. Or even in Prometheus, when David accesses the Saturn Ship (explained below) and sees a holographic projection of the universe.
Personally, I do subscribe to the idea of the archons and the Demiurge. The Demiurge (otherwise known as ‘Lord Archon’) is associated with illusory reality. It’s believed by some that the archons are ‘masters of virtual realities and holographic projection’ and the thousand-year+ old Nag-Hammadi text describes the archons and Demiurge as inorganic entities apparently (see David Icke’s ‘Archons and the Demiurge’).

If we did live in a simulated reality, we might expect occasional glitches, or changes in reality, I suppose somewhat similar to the ‘Mandela Effect’. The Mandela Effect describes a phenomena whereby history is remembered differently by people. Things that people clearly remember change. Of course, memories are imperfect, but the Mandela Effect appears to be more than people suffering collective amnesia. Things do change, and I have experienced this. The phrase was coined by Fiona Broome to describe her memory of Nelson Mandela, who she, and many others, believed had died during his imprisonment in the 80s. To my mind, there have been definite changes, such as Dolly’s missing braces in Moonraker, and bizarre glitches on VHS tapes, as though code had been changed. The glitch-flash under Dolly’s mouth before she smiles in Moonraker (without her braces) on VHS tapes is one such strange anomaly.
2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
Space Odyssey was a remarkable technical achievement, with cinematography that still stands out today as being quite amazing. It was a collaboration between Clarke and Kubrick, with Clarke writing the novel and Kubrick directing the movie. Both were in development simultaneously, with the release of the movie preceding the novel. The idea for Space Odyssey originally came from Kubrick, who approached Clarke. I do think that Kubrick and Clarke had somewhat different visions and consider the book separate. Space Odyssey is somewhat ambiguous and it will lead you on a phantasmagorical trip around the universe and up the garden path until your mind is utterly lost in bewilderment. The key to better understanding Space Odyssey undoubtedly lies with the Monolith — an enigmatic rectangular black slab that propels the movie forwards and creates a ‘visual hierarchy between it and humans’. There are various interpretations of the Monolith, and in my opinion, I think it represents more than one thing. However, what is definite, at least in my opinion, is that the Monolith was representing the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship. The Cosmic Mountain (a.k.a. Pillar of Light, Cosmic Tree, Mount Olympus, and Mount Zion) is equivalent to the Tower of Babel (Gateway of God) and the ‘Door of Daath’. We know the Monolith was probably representing the Cosmic Mountain because of the celestial configuration (below) Kubrick used. Below the image on the left represents the configuration of Saturn, Venus, and the Cosmic Mountain when the stars were assumed to have been aligned differently (from ‘Discourses on an Alien Sky’). This symbol is seen throughout ancient civilisations (see the work by Talbott) and could be associated with sky-gods like Quetzalcoatl.
THIS MONOLITH CONFIGURATION APPEARS TWICE IN SPACE ODYSSEY
The image here is a Mesopotamian cylinder seal and appears to show the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Ship with the Taurus cluster on the left (where Aldebaran resides) and the crescent. The Egyptian image on the right shows the same thing (see David Talbott’s ‘The Saturn Myth’ for more images). The Monolith seems to be positioned in place of the Cosmic Mountain. Now, I do consider the book and movie separate and some have suggested that Clarke may have been partly second-guessing Kubrick after the movie had been made, but I think Clarke’s explanation of the Monolith would apply to the movie:
❝The book explains the Monolith more specifically, depicting it as a gateway or portal❞
This is what I think the 8-spoked wheel of the Saturn Sun essentially is — an inter-dimensional gateway. The equivalent to the Tower of Babel (Gateway of God) or Door of Daath. This would make sense in the context of the advancement of early-humans when they came into contact with the Monolith. The second time we see the Monolith (TMA-1) it’s preceded by the image below appearing to resemble the 8-spoked Saturn Sun (with the characteristic circumpunct). But rather than advancing humans as the first Monolith appears to have done, it generates an eye-piercing sound, incapacitating the original crew.
The meat-eating and meat-references before the original crew came into contact with the TMA-1 Monolith and were incapacitated, I think was intentional. Similar to other movies that deal with this same theme, such as Prometheus — those who attempt to enter the Door of Daath are faced with different outcomes, depending on what their will is. Your will is reflected back at you. When the original crew are eating meat and making meat-references, it could represent how they still have the same mentality as the belligerent meat-eating apes we see at the start. They may have evolved technologically, but not spiritually.
We are then introduced to HAL, Bowman and Frank.
The reflection of Frank spinning inside the eye of HAL may subtly hint at the true nature of his reality.
According to some, such as James Jordan, Space Odyssey has Gnostic overtones. Interestingly:
❝Gnostics had a specific term for our capacity to model reality: HAL. This Coptic word means simulation. The Gnostic concept of HAL is close to what we today understand as virtual reality❞
Quote from Gnostic researcher John Lash:
❝Using the Coptic word HAL: Simulation, Gnostic cosmological text explain that the many-mansion-ed-heaven of the Demiurge is a virtual cosmos, virtual reality (VR) world❞
Some have suggested that HAL may be a representation of the Gnostic Demiurge. HAL acts similar to the Demiurge, imprisoning the crew within an artificial environment, while impeding transcendence. The ship also looks somewhat like a ball-and-chain (possibly symbolising their enslavement to HAL) and as blogger Rob Ager points out: “Frank runs in circles like a mouse trapped in a technological wheel”.
The Monolith was originally designed as a cube:
❝Among the new Smithsonian holdings are an early draft of the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey. The two of them, director (Stanley Kubrick) and novelist (Clarke), are conspiring to make what Kubrick describes in a letter to Clarke as a “really good science fiction movie,” because they both know that there is no such thing — not yet. As they worked together, conjuring up both the novel and the film, correspondence reveals a preoccupation with “The Cube” (later transmuted into the Monolith)❞ ❝Saturn was originally the final destination of the Discovery mission, but it was changed to Jupiter when the special effects team were unable to develop a convincing rendition of Saturn’s rings❞Considering the fact that the Monolith was originally meant to be a cube I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest an association with the Monolith (near Saturn) and the Saturn cube. But before going any further keep in mind that the Saturn cube is generally portrayed as something that we reside within. As someone else says: “The [Saturn] cube can be seen as a reference to the synthetic reality which has been imposed on creatures of the physical plane of existence. It’s very much the “matrix” that is used to bind spirit and consciousness”. When Bowman overcame HAL and went through the Monolith (worm-hole) near Saturn I think he left this dimension (the ‘cube of time and space’) via the Saturn Sun (or Ship). He was then able to observe the Monolith (or cube) from outside, hence his saying: “It’s full of stars”. Similar to the 2001-inspired Interstellar, where Cooper escapes the cube (near Saturn) and is transported to a strange reality and sees Monolith-shaped TVs and within these Monolith-TVs were the inhabitants of Earth he left behind. Cooper was essentially viewing the Earth — which was contained within the Monolith — from outside. Not coincidentally, HAL has the same proportions as the Monolith — HAL is essentially a red-eye framed by a Monolith. So, one could make the suggestion that Bowman and Frank were trapped inside HAL (with HAL being a representation of the Monolith and the Monolith being a representation of the cube). As someone else points out: “The case could be made that the ‘scientific definition of God’ as suggested by Kubrick is present as HAL”: The Gnostic Demiurge that according to the Nag-Hammadi text has trapped humans in a synthetic reality, analogous to the Grand Architect from The Matrix or CLU from Tron.
|IN THE REFLECTION FRANK SPINS AROUND INSIDE THE HAL-SHAPED MONOLITH, SUGGESTING HE IS POSSIBLY TRAPPED WITHIN HAL
HAL IS A COPTIC WORD FOR SIMULATION, AKIN TO VIRTUAL REALITY. THUS FRANK MAY BE TRAPPED WITHIN THE SIMULATION
At one point in Space Odyssey we see Frank and HAL participating in a recreational game of chess. Some have suggested that Kubrick was a Freemason and a chess checker-board is a staple on Tracing Boards. There are various interpretations about what it may represent. My overall impression is that it represents the intellectual outmaneuvering of those who seek to impede transcendence out of Malkuth. Anyway, HAL demonstrates his intellectual superiority over Frank by beating him (albeit disingenuously) at chess.
|KUBRICK WAS ALSO AN AVID CHESS FAN|
After their amicable game of chess, HAL erroneously predicts a fault in the communications of AE-35 and learns that Frank and Bowman are planning to disconnect him. So HAL’s entirely proportionate response is to blow Frank out the airlock and trap Bowman outside the ship as he systematically murders the crew in their hibernation pods. The general view is that HAL was programmed to lie to Bowman and Frank and this engendered a “malfunctioning” in his behaviour. This explanation has never sat comfortably with me, especially given HAL’s distress (and human-like psychological breakdown) as Bowman was disconnecting him, which to me suggests that HAL had strong self-preservation instincts and trapping Bowman outside the ship in my view was at least somewhat motivated by his fear of disconnection. Parallels could perhaps even be drawn to android David in Alien Covenant who develops a sort of God-complex and sees himself as superior to humans. When HAL tricks Frank into thinking he’s been checkmated, HAL is acknowledging his superiority over humans and at the same time almost testing their fallibility. Once HAL has completed his psychological report, and better understands human behaviour, he is then in a position where he can effectively manipulate Bowman and Frank, and take control. HAL was aware of Bowman’s sentimentality after seeing his sketches of the crew and so may have expected Bowman to go and retrieve Frank’s body, leaving the ship under his control. Therefore, HAL’s seemingly innocuous psychological report could have really been about probing for weak points that he could exploit to take control of the ship.
The manner by which HAL barricades himself off so Bowman cannot access his brain to disconnect him is similar to the rouge A.I. in Passengers barricaded behind the door. When Bowman enters the airlock and accesses the central logic system of HAL to shut down his brain, we see CERN-like imagery. The reason I am bringing CERN up (in relation to Space Odyssey) is because of the connections between CERN and the Tower of Babel, and the 2001-inspired Passengers. Before they overcome the rouge A.I. (in Passengers) and access the control-room we see overt CERN imagery. If CERN was a recreation of the Tower of Babel then CERN might be thought of as the key to accessing the brain of God. When Bowman disconnects HAL we see that the components that make up his brain are (just like HAL) Monolith-shaped. Bowman, in my view, is killing ‘God’, and God is a machine. The use of ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’ (inspired by Neitzsche’s Spoke Zarathustra) may also provide a hint that Kubrick was announcing the death of God.
ONE COULD EVEN INTERPRET HAL TRAPPING THEM OUT IN SPACE AS THEM BEING TRAPPED IN A BLACK-HOLE
When Bowman entered the Monolith its alignment corresponded to the position of Daath in the Kabbalah Tree. Daath (or Da’at) is the “doorway of God [or Demiurge] and we know that this is true because the first letter of Daath is Daleth [ד] which symbolises a door. Daleth is the 4th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and carries the value of the number four. It is also the symbol of the doorway. It is through the “Tree of Knowledge” that Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden. They went through the Door of Daath”. When Bowman entered the TMA-2 Monolith (originally near Saturn) he was propelled through the stargate and passes by a kaleidoscope of technical images that have no coherent or logical relationships.

At the end of Space Odyssey, when Bowman shattered the wine glass in the hotel-room and the camera broke the fourth-wall this may have represented Bowman shattering the 4-dimensions of time and space. The Saturn Ship was represented by an 8-spoked wheel, associated with transcending the constraints of time and space. When Bowman left the hotel-room back through the Monolith (between the Freemasonry pillars) he was transformed into the Star Child and similar to the Egyptians who sailed in the Saturn Ship Bowman was reborn — or reborn metaphorically — just as the Saturn Ship is reborn and resurrected as Khepri. Bowman then returns to Earth from the future in the past with a trans-dimensional awareness of the past and future. This is what the Saturn Ship does. It overcomes the constraints of time and space and those within overcome the reset (or loop) represented by Ningishzida’s Caduceus of the Saturn Ship unraveling the double-helix, symbolically freeing oneself from the evolutionarily-restrictive loop.

Appropriately, Bowman is also wearing the Saturn Ship symbol on his jacket.
Essentially, my overall interpretation of Space Odyssey is that of Bowman releasing himself from the VR-prison (represented by HAL and the Monolith — which was a representation of The Cube) by way of the Saturn Sun. Like Neo in The Matrix, Bowman only transcends the illusory reality after he has deactivated and disconnected himself from HAL — the simulation. The synthetic food that Bowman consumes before experiencing ‘real food’ after he transcends HAL I think was also symbolic of the synthetic reality that he inhabited. ‘The idea that ordinary — unenlightened humanity are trapped, or imprisoned, in a false virtual reality is a very old one, of course, that even predates the Gnostics, and some say that it goes right back to the Fall when Adam and Eve found themselves cast out of Eden for eating from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. In this interpretation, the Fall of Humanity was a fall into illusion and a corresponding closing down of consciousness of true reality — an imprisonment in virtual reality, in other words. Whenever and however it happened though, it appears to me to be an existential fact of modern life that present-day humanity is indeed inhabiting a virtual reality that goes by the various names of the real ‘external world’, the ‘physical world’ and ‘physical reality’.
My thoughts are that Kubrick was also portraying a time-loop (or reset). The concept of looped-time and Eternal Recurrence was central to the writings of Nietzsche and I think this was hinted at in various ways, such as with the same music playing at the start and end and Monolith-shaped toilet instructions.
One explanation of this time-loop is the following interpretation of the 2001-inspired Interstellar:
❝Brand sends a team of astronauts and robots on a ship, and travels to Gargantua. During this time they are in hibernation. They finally arrive and send a probe into the black-hole that relays the data to solve Plan A. After a long enough time of living on Gargantua they evolve into 5-dimensional beings and using the data from the probe in the black-hole they create the wormhole. Since it’s 5-dimensional they can go back and change events (time is not linear anymore). They make the wormhole, place it near Saturn and the events in the movie play out as we see them. This fits well with the movie’s tagline: ‘Mankind was born on Earth, it was never meant to die here’. Originally mankind did die on Earth, except for those within Gargantua. It was only after evolving into 5-dimensional beings [or by accessing something that enables them to transcend 4-dimensions of time and space] that they could go back and prevent mankind from perishing. The tagline is alluding to this because mankind did originally die, but they went back to prevent mankind from dying in the first place❞
I think there’s also something to be said regarding the “Hofstadter-Möbius-loop” that HAL was trapped in.HAL could have been trapped in a quasi-Möbius time-loop. The ‘Möbius loop’ (or strip) is characterised by an 8 (which numerologically represents Saturn).
A POSSIBLE ALLUSION TO THE HARVEST WITH THE STEWARDESSES REPRESENTING THE SATURNIANS POSING AS HUMANS
Before bringing my interpretation of Space Odyssey to a close, there are a few other ideas that I wanted to suggest. One of these is the possibility that Frank and Bowman were inside of pods the entire time and their moving around (such as within the EVA eyeball-shaped pods) was only their consciousness or avatar navigating the illusory reality. Bowman could have been trapped inside of his pod by HAL just as the crew in Alien Covenant were trapped inside their pods by the android David. Perhaps Bowman only escaped his pod after entering into the 8-spoked CERN-like wheel, after repeatedly asking HAL to: “Open the pod bay doors” — which could perhaps be interpreted as Bowman essentially saying: “Open the pods”. As blogger Rob Ager notes, “After Bowman overcomes the vacuum, we find a drastic change in cinematography. The stiff and rigid camera movements comprising almost the entire film are replaced by loose handheld shots, hinting that Bowman has freed himself from HAL’s psychological prison”. The change in cinematography, together with Bowman’s intense breathing, may have been Kubrick’s way of communicating that Bowman was leaving his pod and entering the outside world. The idea of being in pods could have also been hinted when Frank was jogging and passes the pods and punches, perhaps suggesting that the fight against HAL to ascend is taking place within the pods — in a dreamworld-like simulation where Bowman is physically unable to put his finger on the pod-exit button (i.e. “I can’t put my finger on it”).
Other observations include the Monolith also representing a TV-screen, suggested by Gerard Loughlin. As someone else notes: “This works well within the Gnostic framework, because one could view the Monolith as a revelation of the material-world as an illusion, or theatre, put on by the Demiurge”. This also works within the aforementioned holographic principle that suggests that our reality could form a 2-dimensional representation of everything contained within, storing a 3-dimensional image in 2-dimensions. The idea is sometimes analogised to a TV, where the characters within the TV would not realise that their seemingly 3-dimensional world resides only on a flat 2-dimensional surface. Think the 2001-inspired Interstellar, where Cooper escapes the 4-dimensional cube and sees those on Earth within Monolith-TVs.
BOWMAN SITS IN THE HOTEL-ROOM UNDERNEATH A PAINTING SHOWING A MAN DESCENDING A TREE
WHICH COULD POSSIBLY REPRESENT HIS ASCENT AND DESCENT OF THE KABBALAH COSMIC TREE
The meticulous symbolism and images within Space Odyssey conveys another dimension of meaning that transcends space-exploration to become a commentary on ascending out from an illusory reality and then rebooting or resetting reality. However Kubrick specifies nothing and everything is communicated through subtle symbols and mysterious enigmas. Kubrick is conveying a radical message of evolution indeed and my belief is that this evolution is associated with the Saturn Ship (or Saturn Sun). The first Monolith that advances early-humans may represent the resurrection of humanity due to those who have accessed the Saturn Ship. Think Arrival or Predestination where those in the future essentially give birth to themselves in the past. When Bowman is reborn, my view is that he’s not only overcoming an evolutionary-restrictive loop and evolving into Neitzsche’s Übermensch, but is also resurrecting humanity. One could think of it as a sort of information time-loop, whereby Cain is continually resurrected and knowledge passed on.
There are many other things that I’ve ruminated over such as the possibility of HAL and Bowman working together, perhaps on some level and also the original crew being led through the Pillar of Light/Christmas Tree trap, analogous to the Oysters in Alice in Wonderland, who are presumably eaten. I think there are two aspects to the Pillar of Light — one is ascension and one possibly a trap. I also regard the date 2024 as more important (assuming the Pillar of Light appears also in 2024).
THE NEW YORK PILLAR OF LIGHT
For anyone who thinks that the idea of Bowman ascending through the Saturn Sun (or Ship) is ridiculous, take a look at the image here. It shows the Twin Towers (before they were demolished) and when viewed at specific times you could see a pillar of light (represented by the reflection on the water) rising between the two pillars. This is how the Cosmic Mountain to the Saturn Sun is depicted. The Pillar of Light (Cosmic Mountain) rises between two pillars which are represented by the Saturn-crescent (or Akhet). Between the towers a building called the Millenium Hilton Hotel was constructed and this building was designed after the Monolith in Space Odyssey. Just as Bowman enters the Monolith between two pillars, the image of the light rising between the towers is a visual representation of the same thing: Ascension through Saturn. This is why the Monolith stargate in Space Odyssey is located near Saturn (originally). The Monolith represents a worm-hole out of Malkuth. It is equivalent to the Tower of Babel or Bifröst Bridge.
THE SATURN LOOP
The Ouroboros is a ancient symbol and represents something continually resurrecting itself and its origins can apparently be traced back to the configuration of celestial bodies when Saturn visually dominated the heavens and was said to be closer to Earth. Quote from ‘The Saturn Myth’: “The circular serpent enclosed Saturn’s Cosmos. In the Egyptian language, the “coil” formed by the serpent is literally “the cord” or “the band”, indicated by the hieroglyphs [see book for hieroglyphs]. The serpent itself was the rope, which the creator stretched round about, gathering… the primeval matter into an organised enclosure. “In Sumero-Babylonian imagery, a circular serpent, called “the rope of the great god” encloses the ‘original’ Cosmos. The serpent-rope is “the bond of the All” held by Enki or Ninurta (Saturn)”.
Many cultures subscribe to the idea of cyclical time and it’s prominent in Indian religions, such as Jainism, Hinduism, Sikhism and of course Buddhism. “Ancient cultures like Incan, Mayan, Hopi — and other Native American Tribes — plus the Babylonians, Ancient Greeks, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and others have a concept of a Wheel of Time: They regard time as cyclical and consisting of repeating ages that happen to every being within the universe between birth and extinction. In Tantric Buddhism, the Wheel of Time concept known as the Kalachakra expresses the notion of an endless cycle of existence and the Wheel of Life represents an endless cycle of birth, life, and death, from which one seeks liberation”.
There are various working scientific models regarding cyclical time such as “The Steinhardt–Turok” model and “The Baum–Frampton” model. It’s also been suggested that time itself could be naturally looped:
❝Einstein’s field equations describe the flexibility of space and time — how the space-time manifold stretch and bend in the presence of matter/energy and a fascinating aspect of the space-time medium is that these equations reveal is its ability to bend completely back onto itself — as if in a kind of loop. The equations actually predict the existence of so called “Einstein-Rosen bridges”, or worm-holes, in the space-time manifold; areas in the continuum of space and time where two seemingly separate coordinates unite as one. Theoretically, worm-holes allow information to travel from one point to another, instantaneously, without needing to traverse the physical space between them. Black-holes are thought to be the only thing massive enough to distort space-time to the extent necessary for such worm-holes to occur. However, since the quantum vacuum exhibits extremely energetic dynamics at the quantum level, many physicists now believe these seething micro-fluctuations actually can be understood as microscopic wormholes, frothing, twisting and foaming within the space-time manifold itself. That is, this inherent looping in the fabric of space-time may actually be its permanent, natural state❞

❝Ouroboros… is a symbol of Saturn. The Greeks knew Saturn as Chronus, a name that means “time”; the legend of this god is that he ate his own children. The Ouroboros is an image of the perpetual process of the creation, destruction, dispersion and assimilation of forms that animates the universe. The purpose of the Great Work is to rescue the soul from this fate; that is, to free her from the lending and borrowing forces that would bind her to the unbalanced shells that, subjected to time, are perpetually devoured by Saturn. To pass beyond time is to achieve Hadit❞
‘Hadit’ refers to a “Thelemic version of Chaos”. Quote from Wikipedia: [Hadit is] “depicted on the Stele of Revealing in the form of the winged-disk of the Sun, Horus”. The winged-disc of Horus is the Saturn Ship. This is probably why when Bowman accesses the Saturn Ship he sees himself, because he has accessed a place beyond time and space — Bowman has “passed beyond time”. This is what the Saturn Ship does. It overcomes the constraints of time and space and those within overcome the evolutionary-restrictive loop. One might think of Saturn as a black-hole endlessly rebounding, thus perpetually “devouring” its children. The Saturn Ship overcame Apophis (or Apep in Egypt) and was resurrected in a continuous cycle. Apophis was the “embodiment of dissolution, darkness and non-being. Hence he was a sort of void or black-hole”. It is suggested by various physicists that we could be living within a black-hole (which would work within the holographic principle) and this black-hole could be continuously rebounding, or somehow looping and resetting, perhaps deterministically. If such an idea were true then perhaps the Saturn Ship could also be thought of as a variable to overcome determinism. Whatever the case, the idea that we could be within a black-hole is not that crazy. Carl Sagan once said: “If you want to know what it’s like inside a black-hole look around you”. In the Gnostic Gospels, the Demiurge threw Adam into the “lowest part of the material realm”. Being thrown into a black-hole would certainly qualify as the lowest part of the material realm.
THE SATURN LOOP IN MEDIA
This idea of the Saturn Ship time-loop and resurrection is subtly shown in movies. In Predestination, the protagonist (a hermaphrodite) gives birth to themselves and as they are reborn (or self-resurrected) they are shown lying under Saturn. In Doctor Strange, he loops time while overcoming the black-hole affiliated Dormammu as he arranges his hand into the horned symbol, which is what the Egyptian deity does while inside the Saturn Ship (here). Doctor Strange creates an unceasing time-loop and is continually killed and self-resurrected. In Alien Covenant, the android David says that humans are “grasping for resurrection”,and they are essentially on board the Saturn Ship. The “Ark of the Covenant” is equivalent to the Saturn Ship and the crew in Alien Covenant have badges inspired by the Egyptian Saturn Ship. In Zathura after they overcome the Reptilians and the malfunctioning android they enter a black-hole near Saturn and are transported back in time. In the TV series LOST, in Daniel’s Notebook, there are references to the “Kerr-Metric” which describes the “geometry of space-time around a rotating massive body, known as a black-hole”. The show references the Saturn Ship (within “Jacob’s Tapestry”) and at the end of the series Jack finds himself back at the beginning again (in a time-loop) and all the characters who had died have been resurrected. In Triangle the protagonist is trapped in a time-loop as she tries to save her son from dying, who is continually resurrected. The loop takes place on a ship called “Aeolus”. Etomologically, Aeolus and Helios are alternate names for Hyperion, and mythologically, Hyperion’s son was Helios (who is identified as Saturn). In the movie ARQ, the ARQ (which is pronounced ark) continually loops time as they attempt to overcome Torus (no doubt a play on Taurus). The Saturn Ship was regarded as the ark.
IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE DOCTOR STRANGE WAS APPARENTLY THE LEADER OF THE ILLUMINATI
Doctor Strange (the assumed embodiment of the Illuminati) arranges his hand into a two-fingered salute that the Saturn-affiliated Christian “Jesus” and “Baphomet” are generally shown doing. These two fingers could relate to Saturn and Jupiter. The Illuminati symbol (see here) looks somewhat similar to that of the amalgamation of the Alpha and Omega — the “beginning and the end”. Here is the Eye of Agamotto from Doctor Strange that allowed him to create a time-loop, continuously self-resurrecting himself. Quote from Wikipedia: “In designing the Eye, Ditko drew inspiration from the real world charm: The All-Seeing-Eye of the Buddha”. Notice that the pupil inside the Eye of Agamotto somewhat resembles Saturn. According to Talbott in ‘The Saturn Myth’ the All-Seeing-Eye is a symbol of Saturn. Quote: “Saturn wears the band as a golden girdle, collar or crown. He dwells in it as the pupil of the All-Seeing-Eye”.
CERN AND SATURN TV REFERENCES
THE AVALON STAR-SHIP LOGO IN PASSENGERS IS THE EQUILATERAL TRIANGLES OF THE SOLOMON SEAL
The star-ship from Passengers is transporting people (and animals) in hibernation pods to Homestead II which is sort of like Antichthon. The image below is part of the star-ship and somewhat similar to CERN in appearance. The CERN-like image appears just before they overcome the rouge A.I.

My interpretation of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is somewhat similar to Space Odyssey in that at it’s heart, I think it’s essentially about accessing the Saturn Ship. The place that the crew members are travelling to in Prometheus is called LV-223 (which is world orbiting a Saturn-like body).
As they’re travelling to LV-223, we some interesting symbolism. Charlie pulls out a cube and as he holds it, he says: “Let me show you why you’re here”. The cube produces a holographic projection of star-maps that contain the winged-disc symbol and as Charlie and Elizabeth explain the mission to the crew we see the Orion constellation. The leaked draft-script of Prometheus references CERN and antimatter in relation to how the Prometheus vessel is able to exceed the speed of light.
THE STAR-MAPS SHOW THE SATURN WINGED-DISC FORESHADOWING THEIR DESTINATION
When David accesses the Juggernaut ship, I think he’s accessing the Saturn Ship. The design of the ship is similar to Saturn’s Ouroboros (click here) and as he activates the 8-spoked wheel he sees a holographic projection of the universe (though not explicitly stated, the ship is presumably able to time-travel).

For anyone not convinced this is a representation of the Saturn Ship, Weyland makes the horned symbol with his hand as he stands within the Juggernaut ship (see image below) similar to the following depiction of a deity within the Saturn Ship — see here. Source: David Talbott ‘Discourses on an Alien Sky#17’. The Ouroboros in that Egyptian drawing parallels the Juggernaut ship, which is essentially the Ouroboros. The Ouroboros was represented by Jörmungandr in Norse mythology who produced a substance that is known as “Eitr” which is sometimes represented as black-goo. This substance is supposedly very poisonous and deadly, but paradoxically also life-giving. The black-goo in Prometheus appeared to selectively target only those who were ‘sinful’. The Engineers use the black-goo to create and destroy, as android David explains when he says that: “Sometimes to create one must first destroy”. The Engineers (within the Saturn Ship) presumably create life and cyclically destroy their creations, possibly to ensure that their creations do not become too technologically-advanced whereby they would become a threat to their hegemony.
Of course, a Saturn-related movie wouldn’t be complete without the equilateral triangles:
THE DESIGN OF THE WEYLAND CORP LOGO IN PROMETHEUS APPEARS TO BE BASED ON THE WINGED-DISC
The image below (from Prometheus) I think is particularly heavy with symbolism. The yellow-streak that leads to the S-shape could be interpreted as the Pillar of Light to the Saturn Ship. 24 in Roman Numerals is XXIV and that can be rearranged to create the Saturn Seal as follows XX with V left over (for reasons not explained here I think 24 could be a date. The Christmas Tree was used in Saturnalia, and researcher Wayne Herschel associates the Christmas Tree with the Pillar of Light. Notice also the Caution symbol on the right hand side of the door, possibly suggesting a recycling trap. Think the “Pied Piper”.
In the hit TV series Mr Robot there is a rather overt CERN-reference (see image here). The machine in the link above was presumably created by the character White Rose for reasons unexplained. However, there are some clues as to what it was created for and these clues may hint at time-manipulation. In Season 2, White Rose drops one of the earliest clues when she states that she can “hack time” and towards the end of Season 2 as Angela is conversing with her lawyer, after meeting White Rose, time is seemingly hacked and the TV loops. In Season 3, Angela says White Rose “opened her eyes” and how things Evil Corp have done, including killing her mother, can be “undone”. Angela says to Elliott how “a whole new world will be born” and asks him, “What if we could make like none of this ever happened… Including what happened to our parents. If we could take it all back, from the beginning”, with Eliot replying, “That’s not possible”. Angela is possibly talking about a reset and the resurrection of their parents. Resetting time to resurrect the fallen sounds altruistic, but it could equally be intended to maintain power.
MUSIC VIDEO: THAT POWER
This music video is centred around the cube and has some particularly interesting symbolism. At the start we see equilateral triangles and they walk past a symbol similar to the Saturn Eye and at the end hold up the cube underneath a pillar of light. The cube also produces a holographic projection.
